How to Make The Nighthawk Cocktail

Eryn Reece, the capo of bartenders at the secretive Banzarbar in Manhattan, created The Nighthawk, a smoky mezcal-based drink. Jason Rodriguez, the beverage director at Hall NYC, shows you how to make this delicious cocktail. THE NIGHTHAWK RECIPE ¼ oz coffee liqueur ¾ oz sweet vermouth 2 oz Pelotón de la Muerte Mezcal Orange twist, for garnish Add coffee liqueur, vermouth, and mezcal to a mixing glass and fill with ice. Stir with a bar spoon or other long spoon for 10 to 15 seconds. Using a julep strainer, strain into a coupe glass. Squeeze an orange peel over the cocktail, rub it around the rim, and then place it into the drink.
